Thomas may not play vs. Giants

The Palm Beach Post reports LB Zach Thomas, who was involved in an auto accident after Sunday's loss to New England, missed practice Wednesday because of whiplash symptoms. Thomas, who sat out two games this season with a concussion, will not board the team's flight to London today and he might not be available for the game. Thomas, though, still could take a commercial flight if he is cleared. His absence would further deplete an 0-7 squad that will be using its eighth different defensive lineup. Read more

Henry back at Bengals practice

The Dayton Daily News reports all season long, Cincinnati Bengals QB Carson Palmer hasn't been able to speak about WR Chris Henry. It hurt too much, knowing Henry would be sidelined the first eight games for violating the NFL's Personal Conduct Policy in the wake of four arrests from December 2005 to June 2006. But all that changed Wednesday when the league notified the club that Henry had been cleared to return to practice. If Henry continues to comply with all league and law-enforcement obligations, he'll join the active roster Nov. 5 and be eligible to play at Baltimore on Nov. 11. "I'm excited," Palmer said. "As soon as we get him back, I'm fired up. How can you not be? His production speaks for itself. It will be great when we get him back. "Any other team, he's the No. 1 receiver. Here, he's the third guy (behind Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh). He gets a lot of single coverages on the weaker corners." Read more

Team won't rush Bentley to return

The Dayton Daily News reports with Hank Fraley playing well at center and their offense humming, the Browns appear more inclined than ever not to rush C LeCharles Bentley back into action. "We're going to try to do the best thing for the kid and us," coach Romeo Crennel said. "Hank is playing good. Good enough to be a starter." Read more

Henry returns to practice

The NFL has notified the Bengals that WR Chris Henry has been cleared to return to on-field practice, to begin his preparation for a possible return to the active roster following the team’s Nov. 4 game at Buffalo. Henry is practicing today as the rest of the team begins it week of preparation for Sunday’s game against Pittsburgh. Earlier this year, Henry was suspended by the league for Games 1-8 of this season, due to violations of NFL policies. The suspension is to end after the Buffalo game. Read more
