Rogers to have season-ending knee surgery

NFL.com reports the knee injury that forced Washington Redskins CB Carlos Rogers from Sunday's 52-7 loss to the New England Patriots will also end his season. Rogers will have season-ending surgery to repair torn ligaments -- the medial collateral ligament and the anterior cruciate ligament -- in his right knee. An MRI on Monday revealed the tears in the ACL and MCL. He will have surgery in about two weeks and begin rehabilitation with the possible goal of returning for next year's training camp. Read more

Parker loves running in Cincinnati

The Post-Gazette reports RB Willie Parker loves Cincinnati maybe even more than his teammates. Parker ran for 126 yards on 22 carries yesterday, the third consecutive game in which he has topped 100 against the Bengals. He even scored his second touchdown of the season, from a yard out four seconds before halftime. Parker now has 726 yards after seven games, a pace of 1,659 yards for the season that would put him close to Barry Foster's team record of 1,690 set in 1992. Read more

The Houston Chronicle reports RB Ahman Green was inactive for the third time in five weeks with the same bruise on his knee that has plagued him since the start of the season. Green was limited in practice all week. "He took a few reps Friday, and he told me after practice Friday that he could not play," coach Gary Kubiak said. "So that is where we are." Read more
