Schaub might sit out

The Houston Chronicle reports headaches plagued Texans QB Matt Schaub as he went through team meetings Monday. The concussion he suffered against the San Diego Chargers was bothering him. It is the most serious injury Schaub has suffered this season. The team is listing Schaub as day-to-day; QB Sage Rosenfels is expected to start against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday. Read more

Leftwich takes steps on repaired ankle

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports QB Byron Leftwich, who had surgery on his right ankle last week, was walking without the aid of crutches on Monday. "I'm feeling good about everything," Leftwich said. "I think I'm ahead of schedule. As you can see I'm walking around. I'm happy about that." Read more

Petrino, DeAngelo Hall meet

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Falcons coach Bobby Petrino and CB DeAngelo Hall met before practice on Monday to clear the air. Hall was outspoken last week over the release of DT Grady Jackson. He questioned the direction of the team under the first-year coach and was critical of the decision to release Jackson. Read more

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports Packers RB Ryan Grant left Invesco Field with a significant amount of redemption tucked away in his travel bag. Finally earning back the trust he fumbled away on the artificial surface of the Metrodome in the fourth game of the season against Minnesota, Grant more than filled in for injured RB DeShawn Wynn to show folks back in Cheeseville as well as across the nation that rumors of the demise of the Green Bay running game were greatly exaggerated.
