Garrard at least a week away

The Florida Times-Union reports QB David Garrard will likely miss at least one more game as the Jaguars' starting quarterback, coach Jack Del Rio said Monday. "I think he's likely to start walking around [off his crutches] and moving this week,'' Del Rio said of Garrard, who suffered a high ankle sprain in the second quarter of a 29-7 loss to the Indianapolis Colts last Monday night. "The most likely scenario would be to have him possibly return against the Titans [in two weeks]. I think it would be very difficult [for him] to make it back this week,'' Del Rio. That means QB Quinn Gray, who completed seven of 16 passes in the 24-23 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, will get the second start of his NFL career Sunday when he faces the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. Pacman sued over spitting incident

The Nashville Tennessean reports a Tennessee State student who accused CB Pacman Jones of spitting on her in a nightclub last October has sued the suspended Titans cornerback for $1.5 million. Krystal Webb is seeking the amount on claims of assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress, according to a civil suit filed in Circuit Court of Davidson County. Read more

Harrison close to ready

The Indianapolis Star reports Pro Bowl WR Marvin Harrison probably would have played Sunday had it been a playoff game, Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy said Monday. "It was one of those things that he played against Jacksonville, played about 35 plays, ended up still being a little bit sore and not making improvement," Dungy said. "We said we could do the same thing again, play 30 more plays, not improve and be in the same boat for another month. Read more

Johnson to get more work at practice

The Houston Chronicle reports the Texans have a number of injury issues they are monitoring as they prepare for their final game before their open date. WR Andre Johnson (knee sprain) will likely participate more in practice starting Wednesday. He participated in a limited amount of drills last week. It's possible he could play Sunday, but his return is more likely against New Orleans after the bye week. Read more
