QB situation remains unresolved

The Buffalo News reports QB Trent Edwards’ balky right wrist was still sore Monday, leaving the Buffalo Bills to postpone their decision about the starting quarterback until later this week. QB J.P. Losman was left wondering if he played well enough in relief Sunday to take back the job he lost under similar circumstances. Bills coach Dick Jauron confirmed two weeks ago that players can lose their starting positions due to injury. Losman opened the season as the No. 1 quarterback, missed two full games with a sprained knee and landed in a backup role upon his return. Jauron made it perfectly clear: Edwards was the guy. Ward rates with best for Steelers

The Post-Gazette reports WR Hines Ward caught touchdown passes from the worst and the best of Steelers quarterbacks, from Kent Graham to Ben Roethlisberger. He caught passes from six starters, not counting his most important, from fellow WR Antwaan Randle El in Super Bowl XL. Three more touchdown receptions and 445 more yards and he will have almost every team receiving record worth holding. That's not bad on a franchise that boasts Lynn Swann and John Stallworth as alumni. Read more

Johnson ok

The Detroit Free Press reports WR Calvin Johnson played a big role in the Lions' only touchdown drive, catching passes for 21 and 23 yards, then running an end-around for 11 yards in the second quarter. But Johnson aggravated the lower-back injury he suffered Sept. 23 at Philadelphia when CB Charles Tillman took him down hard on the end-around. He didn't play much afterward. Billick says he and R. Lewis are 'good'

The Baltimore Sun reports Ravens coach Brian Billick did not say whether he has spoken to LB Ray Lewis about his recent criticism of the play-calling, but he reiterated today that there is no problem between him and his star player. "We're good," Billick said after the Ravens' first practice since the bye. "That's old news. We're ready to move on to the next challenge. We're good to go." Read more
