Beck to share snaps at practice

The Palm Beach Post reports many of the Dolphins will approach their bye week as a chance to forget about their winless campaign and embrace a glorious distraction or two. QB John Beck won't have that luxury, not when the rookie quarterback is on the verge of wresting the lead role from QB Cleo Lemon, and not with Coach Barbara barking plays at him from the living-room sofa. Dolphins coach Cam Cameron said Wednesday that Beck and Lemon each will get equal repetitions with the first-team offense in preparation for their next game, Nov. 11 against the Buffalo Bills. The Dayton Daily News reports RB Rudi Johnson is back, sporting a smile and a healed hamstring. And if all goes according to plan, he'll join RB Kenny Watson and RB DeDe Dorsey as the Cincinnati Bengals' three-headed tailback monster at Buffalo on Sunday. "A healthy Rudi hasn't played in four weeks," Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said, "so we're not going to overload Rudi. We'll use all three backs and try to give everybody a little piece of the pie." Will Lewis share who's starting? "No, I won't," Lewis said. Harrison expected to play on Sunday

AP reports the Indianapolis Colts held out of Wednesday's practice Pro Bowl players DE Dwight Freeney and WR Marvin Harrison, and starting OG Ryan Lilja. All three were listed as out for the practice because of a team decision. Harrison, an eight-time Pro Bowler and the franchise's career receiving leader, has missed two of the last three games with a bruised left knee although coach Tony Dungy was optimistic Harrison would play in Sunday's showdown against undefeated New England.
