Kubiak likes what he sees in Johnson

The Houston Chronicle reports Texans coach Gary Kubiak is hopeful WR Andre Johnson will return to the field this weekend against the Oakland Raiders. He made it clear Johnson still is recovering. McAlister hopeful, limited

The Baltimore Sun reports while CB Chris McAlister still hopes that his strained right knee will improve in time for him to play Monday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers, coach Brian Billick hinted that the team will not have the services of the three-time Pro Bowl cornerback. McAlister has not played since injuring the knee in a 22-3 victory over the St. Louis Rams on Oct. 14, and the team described him as being limited in practice yesterday. Read more

Coles to err on the side of caution

The Star-Ledger reports though the Jets haven't made an official announcement, WR Laveranues Coles, who sat out his second straight practice with a concussion yesterday, will almost certainly not play against the Redskins on Sunday at Giants Stadium. He wants to play, but the team doctors will likely shut him down. It's Coles' second concussion in 10 months. Read more
