Branch iffy

The Seattle Times reports WR Deion Branch missed practice Friday and all week but will make the trip to Cleveland. However, his availability won't be known until just before kickoff. Branch did some running on his own this week, trying to recuperate from a sprained foot. Even if sees action, HC Mike Holmgren said, Branch would only get a few snaps. Read more

Testaverde unlikely to start

The Charlotte Observer reports Carolina Panthers QB Vinny Testaverde sat out his third straight practice Friday. Unlike Wednesday, when he rode on an equipment cart, Testaverde walked back to the stadium from the practice fields and looked comfortable doing so. Suffering from a strained Achilles tendon, he is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Tennessee. Because Testaverde hasn't practiced all week, expect QB David Carr to be the starter. Titans' Henry faces suspension

The Nashville Tennessean reports Titans rookie RB Chris Henry is facing a four-game suspension over an alleged violation of the NFL's steroids and related substance policy, say sources familiar with the situation. Henry is expected to be officially notified by the league Saturday and will have five days to appeal. He will be eligible to play during the appeal process and is expected to be available for Sunday's game against the Panthers at LP Field. Read more

Garrard hopeful for quick return

The Florida Times-Union reports QB David Garrard, who suffered a high ankle sprain against Indianapolis a week ago, isn't ruling out the possibility of returning to the lineup next week at Tennessee. "I'm hoping," he said Thursday. "I've got my fingers crossed." Garrard said he'll know more after he jogs later this week and then comes in the following day to see how his ankle feels. ""If there's pain and swelling and I've got to go back in the boot, that's not a good thing," he said. But Garrard said he's probably ahead of schedule and added, "I'm doing well." QB Quinn Gray will make his second consecutive start on Sunday against the Saints. Read more
