The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports rookie RB Brandon Jackson has worked himself back into the rotation as a third-down back and backup for RB Ryan Grant. HC Mark McCarthy said Jackson probably suffered from having to know the entire offense from the first day of training camp rather than being able to begin as a role player and go from there. "He never really got to zero in on a certain role in our offense," McCarthy said. "He did everything. Everybody else was hurt during training camp. Brandon just needs an opportunity." Read more

Fisher: Haynesworth wasn't ready to play

The Nashville Tennessean reports the decision to sit DT Albert Haynesworth with a hamstring injury Sunday wasn't difficult, Titans Coach Jeff Fisher said Monday in the aftermath of a 28-13 loss to the Jaguars. "It was apparent that he wasn't ready," Fisher said. "It was all based on the fact that we did not want to subject him to further injury, further risk, lose him for a longer period of time. Surgery for Walker

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports TE Aaron Walker is scheduled for surgery today to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder and will be the seventh Rams player to land on the season-ending injured-reserve list.
