Lynch suffered a sprained ankle in the fourth quarter of last Sundayâs win at Miami and he was not at practice Wednesday. Arizona Cardinals 11/15/2007 8:42 AMThe ArizonaRepublic reports inside LB Karlos Dansby remains confident that his agent and the Cardinals will reach a contract extension that will keep him with the team for years to come. But there has been no movement in negotiations. The Cardinals are believed to have sent an offer to Dansby's agent, Kirk Wood, last week, but talks have not heated up. Wood has pursued an extension since last spring and has made several visits to Arizona.Read more
Pittsburgh Steelers 11/15/2007 8:37 AMThe Post-Gazette reports QB Ben Roethlisberger was named AFC player of the week, yet the biggest surprise is that it's only the second time he has won it in his four-year career. He's also moving up in the Steelers' record books. He's second with 74 touchdown passes and is on pace to snap his passer-rating record. He has a 110.2 passer rating. His 98.6 rating in 2005 is the team's all-time best, and his 98.1 in 2004 ranks second.Read more
Pittsburgh Steelers 11/15/2007 8:36 AMThe Post-Gazette reports LB James Farrior and LB Larry Foote had a little debate early this year: Which of them would be gone when HC Mike Tomlin installed the new 4-3 defense? There's room for only one middle linebacker in the 4-3. "He was saying it was him" who would remain a starter, Farrior said, "and I was saying it was me." Then Tomlin declared there would be no 4-3, and Farrior and Foote remained the starting inside linebackers in the 3-4. Still, some wondered how long Farrior might maintain that job because linebackers often do not flourish at age 32 in their 11th pro season.Read more
