Williams to practice Wednesday

The Palm Beach Post reports the addition of RB Ricky Williams is expected to help a run game that entered Sunday second in the NFL with an average of 4.8 yards a carry. Last Thursday, the Dolphins welcomed back Williams, coming off an 18-month suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy. But Cameron said he didn't know if Williams would be ready in time for Monday night's visit to Pittsburgh to the league's highest-ranked defense. "He'll practice on Wednesday, and we'll take it one day at a time, evaluate each day and see what the next day brings," HC Cam Cameron said. Read more

Vick begins prison sentence early

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports QB Michael Vick checked himself into jail on Monday - three weeks before he is to be sentenced for his infamous dogfighting operation. The suspended Falcons quarterback turned himself into the U.S. Marshal's Service in Richmond, even though his sentencing in federal court is scheduled for Dec. 10. Earlier this year, Vick was the face of the Falcons' franchise and one of the NFL's most exciting players. Today, he is sitting behind bars and awaiting sentencing at the Northern Neck Regional Jail, a 460-bed facility about 55 miles northeast of Richmond. The jail has a contract with the U.S. Bureau of Prisons to hold federal inmates awaiting sentencing. Read more

Bengals Henry showing signs of maturity

The Dayton Daily News reports when talking to Cincinnati Bengals WR Chris Henry after Sunday's loss to the Arizona Cardinals. I couldn't help but feel that the eight-game suspension handed down by the league did the young receiver some good both as a player and a person. In the locker room, Henry was focused and all about business. He took a professional approach when speaking showing signs of maturity — something that has been questioned as of late. It was obvious that time away from the game gave the third-year player a better perspective of what was important to him and that is playing football. Read more
