The Trenton Times reports even be fore Miami CB Michael Lehan rolled onto the right ankle of Eagles QB Donovan McNabb in the second quarter of Sunday's ugly 17-7 victory over the Dolphins at Lincoln Financial Field, McNabb injured the thumb on his throwing hand, which also required X-rays. Although the scans came back negative for a fracture, McNabb's thumb is swollen enough to make him a question mark for Sunday night's game against the unde feated New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium. Losman will start against Jacksonville

The Buffalo News reports QB J.P. Losman will be a starting quarterback for at least one more game when the Buffalo Bills play the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. It will be the Bills’ biggest game so far this season and would wind up being the biggest of Losman’s four-year career. Bills coach Dick Jauron confirmed his decision Monday, a day after Buffalo lost to the New England Patriots, 56-10, in the worst defeat in franchise history. Rookie QB Trent Edwards will remain the backup. It could change quickly if Losman performs poorly Sunday. Read more

Bashir placed on IR

The Detroit Free Press reports S Idrees Bashir suffered a torn ACL when he went down on the opening kickoff Sunday. The Lions placed him on injured reserve and signed S Greg Blue. Read more

Grossman likely starter for Bears

The Chicago Sun-Times reports HC Lovie Smith didn't want to engage in the game of naming starters Monday, but he didn't have to tell you QB Rex Grossman is likely the quarterback for the remainder of the season. He was just about as effusive as one can be about Grossman's performance in a loss as possible Monday coming off what was a steady effort. Read more
