An announcmeent could come as early as Wednesday. One source familiar with the situation said Tuesday night: "He is retiring for sure. Noon press conference on Wednesday." Atlanta Falcons 11/20/2007 4:31 PMESPN’s Len Pasquarelli reports the already undermanned Atlanta Falcons, confronting a short work week because of a Thanksgiving night game against the Indianapolis Colts, will face the defending Super Bowl champions further shorthanded on the defensive line. The Falcons on Tuesday afternoon placed both starting defensive tackles, nine-year veteran Rod Coleman and rookie Trey Lewis, on injured reserve, ending their seasons and leaving the club perilously thin at the position. Pittsburgh Steelers 11/20/2007 4:27 PMAP reports Steelers SS Troy Polamalu and WR Santonio Holmes seem certain to miss at least one game and possibly more with injuries from a surprise loss to the New York Jets. Polamalu sprained a knee and Holmes injured ankle ligaments during a 19-16 overtime loss Sunday, one of the NFL's biggest upsets this season. Atlanta Falcons 11/20/2007 4:25 PMESPNâs Len Pasquarelli reports for the fourth time in five games, the Atlanta Falcons have switched starting quarterbacks, with coach Bobby Petrino turning the job back over to QB Joey Harrington for the Thanksgiving night matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. Harrington, 29, has started eight games for the Falcons this season and has posted a record of 3-5, including two straight victories before being replaced by QB Byron Leftwich last week.Read more
