The Indianapolis Star reports WR Aaron Moorehead's season is over. The Indianapolis Colts placed their veteran wide receiver on the injured reserve list with a back injury. Moorehead, who's been a backup receiver since signing as an undrafted rookie in 2003, has been bothered by an unspecified back ailment much of the season. That situation was exacerbated in Sunday's win over Kansas City when he was hit in the back while attempting to catch a high pass from QB Peyton Manning. The team filled Moorehead's spot on the active roster by re-signing veteran DT Dan Klecko. Klecko was waived last week to make room on the active roster for OT Corey Hilliard. Read more

Players' incident didn't involve police

Tennessee Titans
11/21/2007 8:14 AM
The Nashville Tennessean reports an apparent altercation involving Titans DT Albert Haynesworth and suspended CB Pacman Jones at Opry Mills was sorted out by security at the scene, Metro Police said Tuesday. The incident occurred early Sunday morning at The Gibson Showcase. Police weren't called, no complaints have been filed and no arrests are expected, according to police spokesman Don Aaron. "From what we've learned the incident occurred outside Gibson Showcase, but there was no call to the police department. No one wanted the police department involved,'' Aaron said. "But it is not unusual from time to time for parties to have a dispute and police department and law enforcement not be notified.'' Titans Coach Jeff Fisher said he is still looking into the matter. "I am currently gathering facts,'' Fisher said. "It doesn't appear to me to be anything of substance. I am not going to dwell on it. If I get any more information, I'll deal with it in house.'' Haynesworth suffered a cut above his lip in the incident. He made the trip to Denver, but was inactive for Monday's game against the Broncos because of a hamstring injury. Read more

San Francisco 49ers

The Mercury News reports QB Alex Smith's separated shoulder and strained forearm will sideline him for at least two more weeks and season-ending surgery has still not been ruled out, team officials confirmed Tuesday night. The assessment was based on an examination of Smith earlier Tuesday by noted orthopedic specialist Dr. James Andrews, who initially confirmed team doctors' findings that Smith suffered a third-degree separation of his right throwing shoulder Sept. 30 against Seattle. Smith traveled to Birmingham, Ala., on Monday to have the shoulder re-examined, along with the forearm and returned to the Bay Area on Tuesday. An ESPN.com report, citing sources close to Smith, said the injury to the shoulder appeared worse than the findings during Andrews' original evaluation of the MRI scan. Read more

Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Sun reports Ravens DT Trevor Pryce "very likely" will miss the rest of the season with a torn pectoral muscle, coach Brian Billick said last night. "We're going to miss Trevor," Billick said on his weekly radio show on WBAL. "Getting him back was important for us. We'll adjust, but missing him on the inside is going to be a lot to deal with." Pryce was a force in the Ravens' pass rush last season, leading the team with 13 sacks. Read more
