Vikings expect Peterson to play Sunday

11/28/2007 3:50 AM The Pioneer Press reports the Vikings expect to have RB Adrian Peterson back for Sunday's game against Detroit, but they won't be rushing their No. 1 draft choice. Coach Brad Childress made that clear Monday while revealing that Peterson had undergone a follow-up magnetic resonance imaging test on his right knee, "and it shows excellent healing in there." Barring a setback on the practice field, Peterson, who tore his lateral collateral ligament Nov. 11 at Green Bay, will play against the Lions but in a reduced role. Read more

Garcia's status unclear

11/28/2007 3:41 AM The Tampa Tribune reports Bucs QB Jeff Garcia said his aching back was feeling better Tuesday, but he still wasn't feeling well enough to throw a football, so his status for Sunday's game at New Orleans remains in doubt. "I'm feeling a little better today; I'm taking some better steps today than yesterday, but I'm not at a point now where I can even throw the ball yet," Garcia said during his weekly radio call-in segment on WDAE, 620 AM. When asked if he would be able to play Sunday, Garcia said "I still can't say that. I hope to be out there and do my thing, but that's going to be coach's decision. Read more
