Jaws: Moss took plays off

The Boston Herald reports ESPN analyst Ron Jaworski saw something in the Patriots-Eagles game film that was troubling beyond what Philadelphia did in coverage to shut down WR Randy Moss on Sunday night. During a conference call with reporters yesterday, Jaworski, who will be in the booth for Monday night’s game between the Pats and Ravens in Baltimore, claimed he saw Moss slacking off at times when his number wasn’t called. “Quite honestly, when I went through the tape, it was the first time that I was personally disappointed in a Randy Moss performance,” Jaworski said of the NFL’s leading receiver, who caught five passes for 43 yards in the 31-28 win against the Eagles. “I did not see the same energy on every single play that I had seen so far this season. “When he was the No. 1 go-to-guy on a route, he gave great effort and hustle, but there were some plays on the back side when he wasn’t the primary receiver, I did not see great effort. Knowing how the Patriots handle things internally, I’m sure there have been some discussions on Randy that, ‘Every snap, we need 100 percent out of you.’ ” Read more

Galloway looks to extend TD streak

NFL.com reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Joey Galloway leads the team with six touchdown receptions this season and looks to add to that total this weekend against the New Orleans Saints. Galloway has caught a touchdown in six consecutive games versus the Saints and can become only the third player since 1970 to record a touchdown reception in at least seven consecutive games versus a single opponent.  St. Louis Cardinals wide receiver Mel Gray had a streak of nine consecutive games (1974-78) with a touchdown catch versus Dallas and Cincinnati’s Isaac Curtis caught a TD in eight meetings in a row (1973-76) against Cleveland. Perry to remain on PUP list

The Dayton Daily News reports the roster exemption for RB Chris Perry to practice with the Bengals expired today. Perry will remain on the team’s Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list for the remainder of the season. Perry remains in rehab from a dislocated ankle he suffered on Nov. 26 of last season at Cleveland. Read more
