49ers' Smith may call it a season soon
San Francisco 49ers11/30/2007 5:14 PM The Mercury News reports QB Alex Smith might soon have to throw in the towel on 2007. The 49ers quarterback set a timetable for a potential season-ending surgery Thursday, saying that rest alone has done little to improve the discomfort he feels in his separated right shoulder. Smith said doctors will evaluate the shoulder Monday or Tuesday. If there is still only minimal progress, he might surrender and have an operation to reattach the ligaments near his collarbone. Receiver Williams is closer to playing
Tennessee Titans11/30/2007 5:12 PM The Nashville Tennessean reports new Titans WR Mike Williams, who got some work with the offense the past two days, said he wouldn't jump to conclusions, but he felt good. "The only thing I can do that's in my control is put it on film â playing fast, knowing what to do, knowing where to be and how to be there, paying attention in meetings and taking notes," Williams said Thursday. "That's all I can do. "If me playing is in the best interest of this team and this offense, then I am sure I will. If not, then maybe we'll take another week. There was never a timetable." Read more
Green inactive for Texans against Titans
