Haynesworth could play on Sunday

The Nashville Tennessean reports DT Albert Haynesworth (hamstring) participated in a full practice Friday and will be a game-time decision Sunday against the Texans at LP Field, Coach Jeff Fisher said. Injuries won't keep Favre out of action

AP reports Packers QB Brett Favre is expected start against the Oakland Raiders on Dec. 9 and keep alive his record streak for consecutive starts. "Just to quote the medical staff, his (starting) streak is not in danger. He'll be OK," coach Mike McCarthy said Friday, the day after Favre was knocked out of the Packers' 37-27 loss at Dallas with elbow and shoulder injuries. His streak, which dates to 1992, stands at 249 games (269 including playoffs) and is a league record for quarterbacks. Read more

Peterson probable for game against Lions

AP reports RB Adrian Peterson was listed as probable for the Vikings' game against the Lions on Sunday after missing two games because of a torn lateral collateral ligament in his right knee. "He had some soreness, which you would expect ... just from the inactivity," coach Brad Childress said after practice Friday. "It's not going to slow me down," Peterson said of the soreness. "I'm going to be out there going full speed. It's just a matter of feeling what it's like when I get hit." Read more

3 Steelers starters expected to miss Bengals game

The Post-Gazette reports the Steelers are expected to be without three starters for the second game in a row when they play the Cincinnati Bengals at Heinz Field Sunday night. DB Tyrone Carter is expected to start his second game in a row at strong safety for injured S Troy Polamalu (knee), even though Polamalu did some light work in practice for the first time this week. Polamalu, though, did not work with the first team and was limited to merely trotting around the field. He is not expected to play along with WR Santonio Holmes (ankle sprain) and left OT Marvel Smith (back). Holmes and Smith have not practiced all week. Read more
