Peterson: 'I'll be ready'

The Pioneer Press reports RB Adrian Peterson made it through a full week of practice in good shape Friday, and the Vikings' rookie star said he's good to go for Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions. Peterson, who tore the lateral collateral ligament in his right knee Nov. 11 at Green Bay, said he experienced some soreness during the week but no more than expected and is anxious to get the first contact out of the way. "I'm thinking, how would it feel if I hit it?" he said. "With the brace and everything, it's not that I would reinjure it. Just how would it feel when somebody hit it? It's not going to slow me down - I'm going to be out there going full speed - but that's something you're going to think about." Read more

Testaverde ready to go against San Fran

The Gaston Gazette reports Carolina Panthers QB Vinny Testaverde made it through the entire week of practice and appears ready to start Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers. But you can’t blame coach John Fox if he’s a little paranoid when it comes to talking about it. When asked Friday if Testaverde seems to have improved, Fox chuckled and said: “Out of respect for our (quarterback) situation, I will wait and see. This is not being coy. This time last week I said Vinny looked good. And then there was Saturday.” Read more

Garcia hopeful after practice

The Tampa Tribune reports it still will be Sunday before the Bucs know for sure whether QB Jeff Garcia can play against the Saints, but the best sign yet came Friday when he returned to practice. After spending the previous three days receiving treatment on his aching back, Garcia participated in limited fashion during the walk-through that serves as Friday's practice session. Read more
