Jags not giving up on Jones

The Florida Times-Union reports Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio said there's still hope for third-year WR Matt Jones, who has been inactive for three games and played sparingly in the contests in which he has been active. When asked if Jones can salvage his career in Jacksonville, Del Rio said: "I think there is always hope. I'm a very positive thinker, optimistic guy. I believe in hope, I believe in faith, I believe in love, I believe in conviction. I believe in some positive things. We're going to continue to work our guys the best we can and I won't give up until that person or that situation has been extinguished." Read more

Randle El iffy

The Washington Post reports the Redskins could be without WR Antwaan Randle El, who aggravated a hamstring injury in last Sunday's 19-13 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Randle El participated in limited drills for a third day yesterday. Read more

McNabb has 'run out of time'

The Trenton Times reports despite saying QB Donovan McNabb has "run out of time" with his sprained right ankle, Eagles head coach Andy Reid did not officially rule him out of tomorrow's game against the Seattle Seahawks, but the writing is on the wall. Read more

Ward eager to return to starting lineup

The New York Daily News reports in his typically curt remarks to reporters following Friday's practice, HC Tom Coughlin offered a bland "We will see" when asked if RB Derrick Ward would be the starting running back Sunday in Chicago. But the fact that Ward is even an option is encouraging news, since the Big Blue rushing attack the previous three games had all the ferocity of a Pop Warner team. Ward has been sidelined with ankle and groin injuries and hasn't played since an Oct. 21 win against the 49ers. Read more
