Denver Broncos 12/04/2007 12:40 PMThe Denver Post reports upon further review, RB Travis Henry is less disgusted with himself after watching game film of his play against Oakland on Sunday. After the game, Henry was down. "It wasn't as bad as I thought," Henry said. "I hit the hole pretty good. I mean, I hadn't played in three weeks, so I'd expect to be rusty. The good thing is I got the rust shook off and I'll be ready to go Sunday." That is, barring an announcement of a one-year suspension for a positive marijuana test. It could come today before the Broncos begin practice for their game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday at Invesco Field at Mile High. An appeal from Henry was heard Nov. 16. Speculation has swirled on the decision and its timing.Read more
Philadelphia Eagles 12/04/2007 12:38 PMThe Trenton Times reports the Eagles have not defeated a team with a winning record since last Christmas and are 2-4 at home following Sunday's abominable 28-24 loss to the Seattle Seahawks at Lincoln Financial Field. Backup QB A.J. Feeley threw four interceptions; the Eagles failed to score four times from the 1-yard line at the end of the first half, and the play calling of offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg and head coach Andy Reid, amid poor weather conditions was questionable, to say the least. Throw in three missed opportunities for takeaways by the defense and the inability to score on their final eight possessions, and yet none of those things were enough to get Reid to reach his boiling point at his morning-after press conference yesterday at the Nova Care Complex. But ask him a follow-up question about QB Donovan McNabb in an attempt to find out if his injured quarterback was in any way part of the decision-making process that ultimately rendered him out of commission for the Seahawks, and look out.Read more
Pittsburgh Steelers 12/04/2007 12:33 PMThe Post-Gazette reports the Steelers can clinch the AFC North Division championship Sunday. In order to do so, the Steelers would have to pull off an upset victory in New England, where the Patriots are 14-point favorites. Also, Cleveland would have to lose at the New York Jets, where the Browns are 3.5-point favorites. If those two unexpected results happen, the Steelers would be 10-3 and the Browns 7-6 with three games left. The best Cleveland could do after that would be a tie at 10-6 and the Steelers would win that first tiebreaker because they swept the Browns this season. The Steelers also could clinch a playoff berth, but not yet the division title, if they win and Tennessee loses.Read more
Detroit Lions 12/04/2007 12:30 PMThe Detroit Free Press reports Lions coach Rod Marinelli said Monday that WR Roy Williams could be out for the rest of the season with a knee injury, but Williams was a little more optimistic. Marinelli said Williams, who suffered a sprained right posterior cruciate ligament in Sunday's 42-10 loss at Minnesota, will miss several weeks. Williams said he was told he will miss a couple of weeks.Read more
