Cleveland Browns 12/08/2007 8:05 AMThe Dayton Daily News reports as disastrous as it seemed at the time, the Cleveland Browns' 34-7 season-opening loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers had a silver lining. The Browns discovered a resilience they've relied on all season, and will be counting on again Sunday when they travel to face the New York Jets. The Browns haven't lost consecutive games this season, which is quite a transformation for a team that had gone four years without back-to-back wins until breaking the string in October. "We just all believe in each other," right OT Kevin Shaffer said Friday. "You're not going to win every game and you can't do anything about the past. All you can do is something about the future. And our future right now is this game, Sunday, versus New York."Read more
Washington Redskins 12/07/2007 8:38 AMThe Washington Post reports the line of teammates waiting to congratulate Washington Redskins backup QB Todd Collins continued to grow as he approached the sideline late in the fourth quarter last night at FedEx Field. Collins had directed the offense well after he replaced injured starter Jason Campbell before halftime in Washington's 24-16 victory over the Chicago Bears, and the Redskins were eager to show their appreciation. Collins made time for everyone, shaking hands, receiving congratulatory slaps on the back and "atta-boys," enjoying the type of moment he had rarely experienced in a 13-year career spent mostly holding clipboards. With Campbell possibly sidelined for the remainder of the season because of a dislocated left kneecap, Collins moves to the top of the Redskins' depth chart for the final three games.Read more

The season-long backup had been out of football since 2003 until his former college offensive coordinator, Falcons coach Bobby Petrino, gave him a chance to return to the NFL last spring. On Thursday, Redman was named the team's starting quarterback for the nationally televised NFC South game.Read more
Miami Dolphins 12/07/2007 8:33 AMThe Palm Beach Post reports CB Will Allen played in three bowl games at Syracuse before ending his career on a six-loss team that didn't play in a bowl. Before now, that would classify as a bad season for Allen, a seven-year pro. Allen doesn't even know what to call this season. "I've never been 0-12 before," Allen said. "I have never seen a team be 0-12." But rather than become apathetic, Allen said he and his teammates remain motivated.Read more
