Billick: Heap 'doubtful' for Colts

The Baltimore Sun reports Ravens TE Todd Heap is considered "doubtful" for Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts, coach Brian Billick said after today's practice. Heap, who has missed six of the past eight games with a hamstring injury, was limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday. But today, he joined CB Chris McAlister, WR Demetrius Williams and DT Justin Bannan as the Ravens who weren't present at the start of practice. McAlister is considered a game-day decision. Read more

Polamalu doubtful for game

The Post-Gazette reports S Troy Polamalu, whose injured knee swelled after a teammate rolled into him at Wednesday's practice, did not practice yesterday and likely will not play in tomorrow against the New England Patriots. Polamalu was given a run test in the morning to determine if he would be able to practice, but there was no change in his condition and it appears he will be unable to play. He is listed as doubtful on the team's official injury report. "We'll see how it feels on Sunday," Polamalu said. Read more

Knee injury may doom Bush's year

The Times-Picayune reports Saints RB Reggie Bush's season could be in jeopardy because of a torn posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. The injury appears to have been suffered -- or at least magnified -- during Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a 27-23 loss. But the tear was not discovered until after Thursday's practice, when Bush experienced some soreness and swelling. Read more

Grossman out with sprained left knee

The Chicago Sun-Times reports it's about time QB Rex Grossman caught a break. That's exactly what he got Friday when a medical examination revealed he suffered only a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee when he was toppled by Washington Redskins DT Cornelius Griffin Thursday night at FedEx Field in Landover, Md. While the Bears quarterback is expected to miss the final three games of the season, he should be fully recovered in a month and will not require surgery. Read more
