It was unclear when McAlister, a nine-year veteran, hurt his right knee, but the injury first became public when the team had listed the three-time Pro Bowl player as day-to-day after the Ravens' 22-3 victory over the St. Louis Rams on Oct. 14. Miami Dolphins 12/12/2007 5:01 PMThe Palm Beach Post reports a source close to the Dolphins told The Palm Beach Post on Tuesday that QB Cleo Lemon will be the starting quarterback Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens and may have already been given the job for the Dec. 23 game against the New England Patriots, too. Lemon would replace rookie QB John Beck, who started the previous four games but failed to lead the Dolphins to an offensive touchdown. Atlanta Falcons 12/12/2007 4:56 PMThe Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Emmitt Thomas, the Falcons secondary coach, will serve as interim head coach of the team for the final three games of the season. The move was announced at a press conference this afternoon. Earlier in the day, the scene at Falcons headquarters was quiet before team owner Arthur Blank and president and general manager Rich McKay addressed the media concerning the abrupt resignation of head coach Bobby Petrino last night.Read more
New Orleans Saints 12/12/2007 4:49 PMThe Times-Picayune reports RB Reggie Bush is not expected to play for the rest of the regular season because of a torn posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. But as usual, Saints Coach Sean Payton on Tuesday didn't reveal any injury updates, not wanting to give any premature game-planning advantages to Sunday's opponent, the Arizona Cardinals. But the way the Saints played Monday night against the woeful Atlanta Falcons in a 34-14 victory, it might not matter. The Saints' offense was precise and explosive without Bush, and would have caused problems for anybody.Read more
