Bulger improving

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports the Marc Bulger watch continues at Rams Park. Bulger, who has missed two games after suffering a concussion Nov. 25 against Seattle, practiced for the second consecutive day with no apparent difficulty. "Marc threw well and looked good," Linehan reported. "Things look real positive for Sunday," when the Green Bay Packers visit the Edward Jones Dome. Bulger also practiced Wednesday and Thursday last week before his symptoms recurred. Read more

Cards' Boldin hopes to play

The Arizona Republic reports WR Anquan Boldin practiced Thursday for the first time since suffering a dislocated toe nearly two weeks ago, and he's optimistic about playing Sunday in New Orleans. Boldin wasn't at full speed, and his practice time was limited. But just being able to run indicated progress. "It's still a little sore but I was able to do a couple of things on it," he said. "Unless anything happens, I should be out there Sunday." Read more

Big Ben misses practice again

The Post-Gazette reports Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger missed practice for the second consecutive day with what is being called a sore right shoulder. His status for the game Sunday with Jacksonville is, at least for now, a mystery. Though there are some indications Roethlisberger will play Sunday, his status likely will remain unannounced at least until today and possibly up to game time. No one in the organization was forthcoming with information yesterday. Read more

McGahee's looking to break loose

The Baltimore Sun reports RB Willis McGahee gets a chance to change his history against the Miami Dolphins, the Ravens' opponent Sunday. In six career meetings with the Dolphins, the running back has eclipsed the 100-yard mark just once and posted one rushing touchdown. As a member of the Buffalo Bills, McGahee averaged 3.4 yards per carry against his former AFC East rival, which lagged behind his average against the New York Jets (5.1) and New England Patriots (3.8).
