Cincinnati Bengals
12/28/2007 10:42 AM
The Dayton Daily News reports it was a day CB Leon Hall would like to forget. It was No. 1 Ohio State 42, No. 2 Michigan 39. Michigan's All-American cornerback got beat on a 39-yard touchdown reception by Ohio State's WR Ted Ginn Jr., who caught eight passes for 104 yards in the game. As a result, Ginn's draft stock soared — he was selected No. 9 overall by the Miami Dolphins — while Hall slipped to the Bengals at No. 18. The rematch unfolds Sunday at Dolphin Stadium in the final game of their rookie seasons. "Obviously, everybody knows that Teddy Ginn is fast," Hall said. "That's one of those things you have in the back of your mind — that he's going to be one of their deep threats. "They go deep with other guys, too, but he's definitely one of the guys they want to get the ball to. Not only deep, but in space." Read more

Bears need to make room for Rideau

Chicago Bears
12/27/2007 7:02 AM
The Chicago Sun-Times reports the Bears will need to create an opening on their 53-man roster today as the team is expected to sign WR Brandon Rideau to a contract. Rideau had inside position for a roster spot during training camp and preseason before a serious right ankle injury suffered in the third exhibition game at Indianapolis sidelined him. He ended up being waived after reaching an injury settlement with the club. He’s an intriguing prospect who spent most of last season on the practice squad. Rideau is 6-3, 200 pounds, and can run well. The Bears really don’t have someone like that on the roster currently. Read more
