Steelers Sign Davenport

The Post-Gazette reports the Steelers' search to find a third running back continued yesterday when they signed veteran RB Najeh Davenport to a one-year contract, another indication of the growing discontent with RB Duce Staley. Davenport, who spent his first four seasons with the Green Bay Packers and once rushed for 178 yards in a game against the St. Louis Rams, was signed to the 53-man roster just a week after rookie RB Patrick Cobbs was acquired in a trade with the New England Patriots.
