Palmer passes first test

And his reconstructed left knee held up just as strong as his mighty right arm. Palmer threw three touchdown passes and led four scoring drives Monday night as the Bengals kept their preseason record unblemished with a 48-17 victory over the Green Bay Packers in a game halted for 39 minutes because of lightning at 9:09 of the fourth quarter at Paul Brown Stadium. The 48 points is a club scoring record for a preseason game. Team officials called the delay a first for a home game in the 39-year history of the Bengals franchise. Read more
