Steelers QB puts priorities in order

The Dayton Daily News reports QB Ben Roethlisberger's emergency appendectomy and fever were nothing compared with the motorcycle crash that nearly claimed his life in June. The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback wasn't himself in Monday night's 9-0 loss at Jacksonville, not with a 100.4-degree temperature giving him chills and hot flashes. Then again, he was just happy to be playing the game he loves. "Going through everything I've gone through, it kind of makes you appreciate, if you will, the better things in life," Roethlisberger said. "Understand that, yeah, we lost a game. But it is a game. I'm thankful just to be out there. Of course, I'm upset that we lost the game and I didn't play well, but I'm happy just to be alive and to be out there to play football." Read more
