Eagles Snag Stallworth

The Trenton Times reports hours after Eagles HC Andy Reid told reporters he feels "very good" about going into battle Sept. 10 against the Houston Texans with the skill players currently in camp, the team traded LB Mark Simoneau and a conditional fourth-round draft pick in 2007 to the New Orleans Saints for WR Donte' Stallworth. The deal is pending both players passing physicals with their new team. Stallworth's exam is scheduled for this morning at the NovaCare Complex, after which he will meet with the media. Read more

Davis in Danger of Being Cut

The Houston Chronicle reports RB Domanick Davis, the Texans' career rushing leader, is in danger of not making the team this season. Davis, who missed five games in 2005, has not practiced since the first week of preseason because of a bruised left knee that is unrelated to the arthroscopic surgery he underwent on the same knee in December. The Florida Times-Union reports the Jaguars released K Seth Marler on Monday along with wide receivers Troy Edwards and Felton Huggins. More cuts are expected today by 4 p.m., because the Jags have to trim their roster to the league-mandated 75 players. Jacksonville currently has 81 players on its roster. Read more

Titans Add Collins to the Mix

The Nashville Tennessean reports QB Kerry Collins, heading into his 12th NFL season, passed a physical for the Titans on Monday and signed a one-year contract that will pay him about $2 million — a base salary of $1.3 million and a roster bonus in the $750,000 range. He didn't take part in practice, but spent some time with offensive coordinator Norm Chow. HC Jeff Fisher said he hopes Collins will see action in Friday's preseason finale at Green Bay and that rookie QB Vince Young probably will remain the No. 2 quarterback. Read more
