Bengals put pressure on QBs

The Dayton Daily News reports interceptions fueled the Cincinnati Bengals defense in 2005 when the club picked off 31 passes en route to its first playoff bid since 1990. This season, it's all about the sacks. The Bengals haven't had a double-digit sack master since Alfred Williams toppled 10 quarterbacks in 1992. They'll likely have two in 2006 — Justin Smith and Robert Geathers. Six games deep into the season, Smith and Geathers have generated 6.0 sacks each for the Bengals, who are tied for 12th in the NFL with 15. The club in on pace for 40. Its goal is to shatter the club record of 48 set in 2001. Read more
