Smith signs $25 million deal with Jags
Jacksonville Jaguars01/18/2007 6:32 PM AP reports the Jacksonville Jaguars locked up another key defensive starter Thursday, signing LB Daryl Smith to a five-year contract extension worth about $25 million. Smith, a second-round draft pick from Georgia Tech in 2004, has started every game the past two seasons and led the team with 170 tackles last year while filling in for injured middle LB Mike Peterson.
