Coaching search visits New York, Detroit
Miami Dolphins01/11/2007 8:05 AM The Palm Beach Post reports the Dolphins planned to meet with three more job candidates Wednesday, bringing to a full dozen the number of coaches interviewed to replace Nick Saban. The newest prospects for the Dolphins - who are believed to be almost done with the first round of recruiting - are New York Giants defensive coordinator Tim Lewis and New York Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer. The Dolphins were scheduled to meet with the two in the New York area, and in Detroit with Lions offensive coordinator Mike Martz, a source said. The team plans to narrow the field to five for a round of intense interviews and then settle on two finalists, the source said. The most glamorous candidate, USC coach Pete Carroll, went to great pains Tuesday to express his desire to stay at USC, regardless of what the Dolphins offer. Read more
