McNabb surgery goes as planned

The Trenton Times reports just when the Eagles thought they might have some encouraging injury news to report, they were hit with another blow. Given the way their season is going, it was apropos that on the day surgery was performed on QB Donovan McNabb's injured knee, they were forced to shut down tight end and long-snapping specialist Mike Bartrum for the season with a potentially serious disc condition. Team trainer Rick Burkholder was optimistic about McNabb's long-term prognosis following surgery yesterday by Dr. James Andrews to repair a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in McNabb's right knee.
