Bengals' work week tweaked

They're used to Sunday games, Monday meetings and Tuesdays off in preparation for head-banging practices on Wednesday and Thursday. Then things taper off on Friday and Saturday. "Physically, with all the bumps and bruises, you usually just start turning the corner on Thursday," Bengals DE Justin Smith said. Instead of turning the corner, the Bengals and Baltimore Ravens collide in a crucial game at Paul Brown Stadium at 8 p.m. Thursday. "I can't really say it's difficult," Bengals DT Shaun Smith said. "If you want to make it to the playoffs, you've got to sacrifice, suck everything up right now and put it all on the line." HC Marvin Lewis said he planned for this game "before the season and during the (Oct. 8) bye week." Practice schedules were tweaked in an attempt to keep players fresh. Read more
