Team plans tribute to Rice on Sunday
San Francisco 49ers11/18/2006 8:45 AM The Contra Costa Times reports in his 13 NFL seasons, 49ers DT Bryant Young says he picked up many valuable lessons from being around WR Jerry Rice, the retired receiving great who will be honored Sunday by the 49ers. "A lot of times, when you see a great player like that, you don't see the preparation that goes into what he has to do to get himself ready for games," Young said. "Just being out here on the practice field, watching him work, there's something to be learned from that. I learned just from watching him, his work ethic and how to prepare for a game and how to continue and do it on a consistent basis." Read more
