Harris resigns from Jaguars
Jacksonville Jaguars12/24/2008 8:16 AM The Florida Times-Union reports James "Shack" Harris, a pro football pioneer on and off the field, became the first major victim of the Jaguars' losing season Tuesday when he resigned as the team's vice president of player personnel. Gene Smith, who was the director of pro and college personnel, was promoted to replace Harris, but the move raised almost as many questions as it answered. Neither owner Wayne Weaver nor Smith spoke to the media. Although the move was announced as a "resignation," coach Jack Del Rio called it an "ownership decision." Read more
