New York Giants' Antonio Pierce practicing as police wait

The Star-Ledger reports Antonio Pierce's role with the Giants hasn't changed -- and isn't expected to any time soon. The middle linebacker is being investigated by police for his role in teammate Plaxico Burress' accidental shooting of himself at a Manhattan nightclub, but Pierce was back at work at Giants Stadium Wednesday and is preparing to play Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. "He is practicing," coach Tom Coughlin said, "and I fully expect that he will continue." Burress' fate with the team this season was decided Tuesday when he was placed on the non-football injury list, ending his season. But Coughlin said the team didn't see a reason to take any action toward Pierce at this time. Read more
