Dolphins release Hagan

The Palm Beach Post reports the Dolphins had high hopes for wide receiver Derek Hagan when they selected him with the No. 82 pick of the 2006 draft. But Hagan never lived up to expectations, failing to even find a spot on the 45-man active roster in four of the past five games. Today, the Dolphins released him, an NFL source confirmed. Hagan, 24, leaves the Dolphins with just 53 catches, three touchdowns and one start in 2 1/2 seasons. Read more
