Jags' Meier gets big extension
Jacksonville Jaguars05/16/2008 8:37 AM The Florida Times-Union reports the Jaguars are batting .500 in signing defensive linemen. DT Rob Meier, in his final year of his current contract with a base salary of $2.095 million, agreed to a four-year contract extension Thursday that locks him up through the 2012 season. But the team has been unable to reach an extension with DE Paul Spicer. Spicer and middle LB Mike Peterson are the only defensive starters whose contracts expire at the end of this season. Read more
