Rams pick Wisconsin site for training camp

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports seeking camaraderie and cohesion among his troops — plus a desire to do things differently from last year, when the Rams slumped to 3-13 and the bottom of the NFC West standings — coach Scott Linehan decided a few months ago that the team would hold training camp out of town. The question became: where? Club officials considered returning to Western Illinois University in Macomb, site of training camp from 1996 to 2004. They also looked at several sites in Wisconsin, with the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater emerging as a finalist. Although the club is delaying an official announcement until details are complete, it has decided on Concordia University in Mequon, Wis. Players tentatively are scheduled to report July 24, with the first practice scheduled for the next day. Camp will run through mid-August, breaking just before the Rams' first home preseason game, Aug. 16 vs. San Diego. Read more
