Rhodes gets 5-year extension

The Star-Ledger reports the Jets have finally taken care of one of their own. After doling out more than $140 million this offseason to acquire new players via free agency and a trade, the Jets yesterday agreed with S Kerry Rhodes on a five-year, $33.5 million contract extension that includes $20 million guaranteed. The contract puts Rhodes among the highest-paid safeties in the NFL. Colts Pro Bowl safety Bob Sanders signed a five-year, $37.5 million deal with $20 million guaranteed this offseason. Read more
