Veteran free-agent DT talking to Falcons
Atlanta Falcons03/07/2008 3:49 PM The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the Falcons could be getting some help to re-stock their depleted defensive tackle position. Carolina free agent DT Kindal Moorehead was scheduled to meet with team officials Thursday and take a physical before the weekend, according to a person familiar with the situation. If the Falcons and Morehead (6-foot-2, 285 pounds) reach an agreement, the five-year veteran could compete for playing time with Jonathan Babineaux at the under-tackle spot in Atlanta's 4-3 defensive front. Morehead spent most of his career in Carolina playing behind standout Kris Jenkins. He has started 13 games in his career, out of 75 games, and has 9.5 sacks. Read more
