Parcells' friendship with Huizenga sways the deal
Miami Dolphins12/20/2007 9:33 AM The Palm Beach Post reports Bill Parcells reached an agreement Wednesday to run the Dolphins' football operations, a source close to negotiations told The Palm Beach Post. The source said Parcells, winner of two Super Bowls as coach of the New York Giants, entertained the idea because of his friendship with Wayne Huizenga and insisted the Dolphins owner, who has been in discussions to sell, retain control of the team. Parcells, 66, would be in charge of everything related to what happens on the field and decide the fates of General Manager Randy Mueller and coach Cam Cameron. A contract had not been signed as of Wednesday night, but the source said there was "an understanding" in place between Parcells and Huizenga. Read more
