Bucs shut out of Pro Bowl

The Tampa Tribune reports two days after clinching the NFC South title, the Bucs were shut out of the Pro Bowl. Tampa Bay failed to place a player on the NFC roster for the Feb. 10 game at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu. The Bucs have had at least one participant in the Pro Bowl every season since 1996. Outside LB Derrick Brooks was not named Tuesday, placing his streak of 10 consecutive Pro Bowl berths in jeopardy. Selectors chose Seattle's Julian Peterson and DeMarcus Ware as NFC starters, with Chicago's Lance Briggs in reserve. CB Ronde Barber has appeared in four Pro Bowls, including the last three, but Green Bay's Al Harris and Seattle's Marcus Trufant will start for the NFC Feb. 10, backed by Terence Newman of Dallas.
