Fargas has rushed for 285 yards over the past two games

He is in the final year of the five-year contract he signed as a rookie in 2003 and headed for the riches of the free-agent market. Of course, the Raiders could sign Fargas to an extension. Either way, Fargas stands to earn far more than the $800,000 base salary he is getting this season. In fact, next season he figures to make far more than the $2.1 million he earned in base salary the past five seasons combined. Fargas' future figures to have a domino effect on the Raiders' long-term plans regarding RB Lamont Jordan and RB Dominic Rhodes. At this point, there's no conceivable way the Raiders will bring back Rhodes or Jordan with their current contracts intact. Read more
