Ward eager to return to starting lineup
New York Giants12/01/2007 8:51 AM The New York Daily News reports in his typically curt remarks to reporters following Friday's practice, HC Tom Coughlin offered a bland "We will see" when asked if RB Derrick Ward would be the starting running back Sunday in Chicago. But the fact that Ward is even an option is encouraging news, since the Big Blue rushing attack the previous three games had all the ferocity of a Pop Warner team. Ward has been sidelined with ankle and groin injuries and hasn't played since an Oct. 21 win against the 49ers. Read more
