Peterson is a 'long shot' to play against Giants

The Pioneer Press reports RB Adrian Peterson hasn't been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Giants in New York, but the Vikings' No. 1 draft choice isn't expected back this week. "I'd say it's a long shot right now to get back there, but we'll see," coach Brad Childress said Monday. "He's surprised me before." Peterson tore the lateral collateral ligament in his right knee in a Nov. 11 loss at Green Bay and sat out Sunday's 29-22 victory over Oakland. The NFL's leading rusher did some running on an underwater treadmill Monday, but he isn't expected back in a game until Dec. 2 against Detroit, at the earliest. Read more
