Kiwanuka likely out for season

The Star-Ledger reports DE/LB Mathias Kiwanuka was drafted by a team with three excellent defensive ends ahead of him. So in his rookie season, he didn't get to play until late in the year.  And when he did get in a game, he let go of Titans quarterback Vince Young early during the fourth-down scramble that contributed to -- and perfectly defined -- the Giants' 2006 meltdown. This year, with too much depth at end and not enough at linebacker, Kiwanuka's position was switched. Naturally, there were some growing pains, which he quickly overcame. And then came yesterday -- perhaps the worst day in an NFL career that's been extremely frustrating for the mild-mannered 24-year-old former first-round pick. Read more
