LB thriving even as Cincinnati defense struggles

The Dayton Daily News reports the Bengals' defense is under fire, but one player is on fire. Outside LB Landon Johnson, a fourth-year star from Purdue, has emerged as the unit's most consistent, reliable performer. His team-leading 36 tackles (22 solos) and two fumble recoveries — he scored on a 34-yard fumble return against Baltimore in the opener — are testaments to his talent and his ability to stay free of injury in 2007. This year marked the first of his three offseasons in which he didn't require shoulder surgery. Read more
